Public Security Chief chairs GCC committee meeting

Manama, October 3 (BNA) Public Security Chief Lieutenant-General Tariq Al-Hassan chaired an online meeting of the Ministerial Committee for Combating Corruption in the Gulf Cooperation Council.

The event was attended by the heads of the integrity protection and anti-corruption bodies in the region.

Lieutenant General. Al-Hassan delivered a speech in which he valued the Gulf efforts in fighting corruption and raising awareness.

He praised the dedication of the members of the committee in achieving the goals of their Majesties and Highnesses the Gulf leaders.

He stressed that the COVID-19 pandemic has posed significant challenges in the fight against corruption.

He urged continued efforts to enhance transparency and integrity, adding that challenges can be overcome through joint efforts and a strategic vision to enhance the integrity framework.

Lieutenant General. Al Hassan conveyed the greetings of Sheikh Nasser bin Hilal Al Maawali, head of the Omani Audit Bureau, who was unable to attend the meeting due to the climatic conditions in the Sultanate.

He prayed for the safety of the leadership, government and citizens of Oman. The meeting reviewed topics related to Gulf cooperation in protecting integrity and combating corruption.
