Public Prosecution investigates four drug smuggling cases

Manama, April 20 (BNA) The Director of Public Security in Muharraq announced that the Public Prosecution received four notifications from the Anti-Narcotics Directorate about four Asians attempting to smuggle 585 capsules in their intestines on suspicion of stuffing narcotic substances. in the Kingdom for trade. The Asians were arrested by Bahrain International Airport customs officers.

The Public Prosecution Office began investigating each incident separately as soon as the notifications were received. She interrogated the defendants at the Salmaniya Medical Complex and ordered their detention pending investigation. It also ordered extensive investigations into the events and appointed specialists to examine the seized items.

The Chief Prosecutor indicated that investigations are underway to determine the scope of criminal responsibility, reach the suspects abroad, and take the necessary measures against them.
