Primary Healthcare Centers participate in Paxlovid Prescribing Guidelines workshop


Manama, May 17 (BNA): Chief Executive Officer of Primary Health Care Centers, Dr. Lulwa Rashed Showaiter, attended the “Paxlovid Prescribing Guidelines” workshop.

Paxlovid is a drug used to treat coronavirus patients.

The workshop included lectures by Lt. Col. Dr. Manaf Al-Qahtani, Consultant Infectious Diseases and Microbiologist at Bahrain Defense Force Hospital, and Dr. Katia Mazrouli.

Dr. Showaiter affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s keenness to provide the latest treatments necessary to combat the Corona virus.

She pointed out that the medical cadres in the Kingdom have proven their competence in dealing with critical cases of people infected with the virus.

Dr. Al-Qahtani stressed the importance of the drug Paxlovid in accelerating the recovery of those infected with the virus, reducing mild symptoms, and treating existing cases that are prone to severe symptoms.

He highlighted the statistics of the Corona virus in the Kingdom, the stages that the Kingdom went through, ways to treat them, and the measures that were taken to combat the virus.
