Precautionary quarantine protocol update

Manama, January 11 / BNA / After the approval of the Governmental Executive Committee, and based on the latest international data and developments, the National Medical Task Force to combat the Corona Virus (Covid-19) highlighted that, starting from Thursday, January 13, 2022, the precautionary quarantine period will be seven days from the date of infection For individuals holding a green shield on the BeAware Bahrain app.

Green Shield holders can be released from quarantine after seven days without a PCR test.

Unvaccinated individuals, or those with a yellow or red shield on the BeAware Bahrain app, must be quarantined for ten days from the date of infection and may be discharged from quarantine after ten days without a PCR test.

The task force also announced the update of the precautionary quarantine protocol for travelers entering the Kingdom of Bahrain through all ports of entry. Individuals carrying a yellow or red shield on the BeAware Bahrain app and unvaccinated travelers will need to self-quarantine upon arrival for seven days. Passengers with a green shield on the BeAware Bahrain app are not required to quarantine.

The task force stressed the importance of performing PCR testing if symptoms of COVID-19 develop and continuing to adhere to all health precautions.
