Manama, October 3 (BNA) Parliament Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal praised today the unlimited support offered by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to Bahraini women. She commended the efforts of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, the sanctity of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women, in highlighting the contributions of Bahraini women as an essential partner in the national development process.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives praised the government’s efforts, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in implementing national policies aimed at supporting the progress of Bahraini women and meeting their needs. She emphasized parliamentary support for national empowerment programs, stressing the role of the Supreme Council for Women as a strategic partner.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives’ statements came when she received today the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Women, Hala bint Muhammad Al-Ansari. The meeting was attended by First Vice President Abdul Nabi Salman Ahmed, Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament Ali Ahmed Zayed, Chairman of the Services Committee Ahmed Youssef Al-Ansari, Chairman of the Women and Child Affairs Committee Kaltham Abdul Karim Al-Hayki, and the Assistant Secretary-General for Resources and Services Affairs. The head of the Equal Opportunities Committee, Dr. Yasser Saqr Al-Shirawi, and the advisor for presidential affairs, Mustafa Abdel-Aziz.
The meeting was attended by the Supreme Council for Women, Assistant Secretary-General Sheikha Dina Bint Rashid Al Khalifa, International Relations and Follow-up Adviser Mohammed Al-Faris, Legal Adviser Dr. Muhammad Walid Al-Masry, and Director of the Secretary-General’s Office Sheikha Mariam Bint Khalifa Al Khalifa.
The meeting shed light on ways to enhance cooperation between the House of Representatives and the Supreme Council for Women and issues of common concern.
Al-Ansari conveyed the greetings of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa and her support for the legislative authority’s efforts in addressing priority issues for Bahraini women. She also commended cooperation with the legislative authority as a key partner in implementing the national model for gender equality.
