Osimhen scores late for Napoli in 1-1 draw at Cagliari

Rome, February 22 (BNA): Substitute Victor Osimhen scored a late equalizer and Napoli drew 1-1 with relegation-threatened Cagliari on Monday to move two points clear of the leaders.

Cagliari dominated for extended periods before Osimhen redirected a long pass from Mario Rui in the 87th minute, The Associated Press reported.

Gaston Pereiro put Cagliari ahead after nearly an hour with a long rebound, after which the Sardinian club had several opportunities to consolidate its lead.

Napoli tied with second-placed Inter Milan – who has a game in hand – two points behind leaders Milan.

Cagliari remained in the drop zone.
