New York, March 14 (BUS): Academy Award-winning actor William Hurt known for his roles in films such as “Kiss of the Spider Woman” and “Broadcast News” has died at the age of 71.

Hurt, who attended the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City, rose to prominence as one of the most famous and iconic men of the 1980s, earning three Academy Award nominations for Best Actor for his roles in the 1985 film Kiss of the Spider Woman, the 1986 children’s film From God Less, and 1987 “Broadcast News”.
He won an Academy Award for his role in Kiss of the Spider Woman.
Hurt earned his fourth and final Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for “A History of Violence,” a 2005 crime thriller film.
Most recently, he played General Thaddeus Ross in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk, a recurring role he reprized in subsequent superhero films based on the Marvel comics including “Captain America: Civil War”, “Avengers: Endgame” and “Black Widow.
