London, July 3 (BNA): Third seed Anas Jaber saved five first-set points in the first set tiebreak before beating Elise Mertens 7-6 (9), 6-4 to reach the Wimbledon quarter-finals for the second time in a row.
Jabeur came 6-3 in the tiebreak, then broke 24th seed Mertens in the final game of the second set when her opponent double-faulted on match point on Court 1.
Jaber will face unseeded Marie Bozkova, as both players attempt to reach the semi-finals of the Grand Slam.
