On May Day, workers rally for better labor conditions

Seoul, May 1 (BNA) A large number of workers and activists around the world celebrated Labor Day on Monday with rallies calling for higher salaries, shorter working hours and better working conditions, the Associated Press reported.

Labor Day, which falls on May 1, is celebrated in many countries as a day to celebrate workers’ rights through rallies, parades, and other events.

This year’s events saw a larger turnout than in previous years, as COVID-19 restrictions were significantly eased and opposition focused on how governments’ economic plans could affect workers.
