Ombudsman meets with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Arabian Peninsula Affairs

Manama, October 6 (BNA) Ombudsman Nawaf Muhammad Al-Maawda met today with the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Arabian Peninsula Affairs Daniel Benaim, who is accompanied by a delegation from the US Embassy in Bahrain.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Ombudsman Ghada Hamid Habib.

The Ombudsman praised the visit of the US delegation, which comes within the framework of international cooperation activities and communication with representatives of diplomatic missions in Bahrain.

The visiting guest was briefed on the functions of the Board of Grievances and the pioneering procedural steps taken by the Kingdom of Bahrain to protect human rights, especially those that benefit children and prisoners.

The meeting was attended by the Director of International Cooperation and Development, Sheikh Mohammed bin Ali Al Khalifa, and Head of the Human Rights Affairs Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Arwa Hassan Al-Sayed, from the Board of Grievances.
