Muscat, Jan. 23 (BNA): His Highness Sayyid Taimur Asaad Al Said, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Central Bank of Oman, patronizes the inauguration of OQ’s Bassat oil field on January 26, 2023.
According to the Oman News Agency (ONA), the Bassat oil field is one of the most important projects of OQ’s exploration and production sector. The field, which is located in Concession Area No. 60 in Abu Taboul, uses the latest technology and digital solutions to enhance the long-term sustainability of resources and operations and to maximize revenue and return on investment.
The local value of the Bassat oil field project amounted to RO 157 million. In addition, the total amount spent on local SMEs and contractors amounted to OMR 34 million of the total cost of the project. The value of the products manufactured in Oman amounted to 60 million Omani riyals from the total purchases of the project. The project also created direct and indirect opportunities for Omani youth, which led to a high overall Omanisation rate of 85% of the group’s employees working in Concession Area No. 60.
