Oil Minister inaugurated 2nd international Conference & Exhibition on Spills, Clean Seas & Environment



Manama, October 12 (BNA) The Minister of Oil and Environment and the Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, Dr. Muhammad bin Mubarak bin Dina, inaugurated the Second International Conference and Exhibition on Spills, Clean Seas and the Environment under the slogan of clean sustainable seas.

The conference has more than 500 participants, 60 international speakers, and 30 companies representing more than 20 countries.

It aims to discuss the most important topics related to oil spills, exchange knowledge and experiences, and review best practices in oil spills and environmental preservation.

Dr. Bin Dina thanked the organizing committee for the efforts made in organizing this global event and choosing Bahrain to hold the conference in its second edition.

He stressed the Kingdom’s keenness to provide support for such specialized conferences with positive results on the knowledge system and environmental development, in addition to maintaining a clean environment free of pollutants.

The minister pointed out the importance of topics that the conference will address, such as sustainable clean seas in terms of preparedness, response, adaptation, crisis management, communications and media management, and the role and impact of leadership in managing oil spills.

He stressed the ministry’s keenness to organize these conferences, which are among the training programs offered to creative Bahrainis who are able to find innovative, proactive and flexible solutions to face different types of spillage.
