NPRA Undersecretary meets with LMRA Chief Executive

Manama, January 8 (BNA): Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs Sheikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa held a meeting with the CEO of the Labor Market Regulatory Authority Jamal Abdulaziz Al-Alawi. . Officials from both sides attended.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Undersecretary welcomed the CEO of the Labor Market Regulatory Authority, praising the remarkable development of the authority to enhance services.

He said that the development of facilities will enhance the investment environment and the coordination mechanism in processing applications without the need for personal attendance through the electronic link between the two sides.

The meeting reviewed the simplification of visa services, exchange of experiences, and the e-residency service, which will be launched in the first quarter of 2022.

The two sides also discussed cooperation in ports and the possibility of extending the validity of visas to reduce red tape.

They reviewed the comments of some investors, hotel managers and employees, which would enhance efficiency and facilitate procedures. The NPRA and the Labor Market Regulatory Authority have agreed to intensify inspection campaigns to address violations of the labor market and residency rules.

They also agreed that opening the Passport Office at the Labor Market Regulatory Authority branch in Riffa is part of measures to facilitate operations, especially obtaining residency stickers without having to go to NPRA centers.

It was also decided to replace the e-residency stickers with e-residency services at the end of the first quarter of this year.

The CEO of the Labor Market Regulatory Authority praised the high services and facilities provided by the authority to citizens, residents and visitors to meet the aspirations of the government.

He emphasized that NPRA is an important partner in many services. Thus, the cooperation is an example of government integration efforts since the establishment of the Labor Market Regulatory Authority in 2008.

He said the two sides will work together to enhance services and intensify inspection campaigns to develop the labor market.

The meeting decided to form a team from the executive management of the two sides to ensure continuous facilitation and development of procedures.

Finally, the agent directed to increase visits and cooperation between the two authorities to work in a team spirit in providing the best services to all segments of society.
