North Korea conducted another test of underwater nuclear-capable attack drone this week

Seoul, April 9 (BNA): North Korea said Saturday that it conducted another underwater test of a nuclear-capable attack drone this week, proving the weapon system’s reliability and “killer” strike capability.

Yonhap reports that North Korea tested the Hail 2 underwater strategic weapon system from April 4-7.

“The system will serve as a useful and future military potential for the DPRK’s armed forces necessary to contain all advanced military actions of enemies, eliminate threats and defend the country,” KCNA said in an English-language cable.

The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea is the official name of North Korea, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

North Korea’s provocation came as the secretive regime vowed to take “crushing” measures against joint military exercises between South Korea and the United States.

The experimental drone was deployed from a port in South Hamgyong Province on Tuesday, and “correctly fired” an experimental warhead underwater on Friday after cruising along a simulated “oval and octagon” trajectory of 1,000 kilometers for 71 hours and six minutes, it added.

The provocation came about two weeks after North Korea first announced an underwater test of its drone under the waters of Hail on March 24. She claimed the “secret weapon” was capable of generating a “radioactive tsunami” and stealthily attacking enemies.
