Nobel panel to announce winner of chemistry prize

Stockholm, October 5 (BNA) The winner or winner of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry will be announced on Wednesday at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in Stockholm.

Last year, the prize was awarded to scientists Benjamin List and David W. C. Macmillan for finding an ingenious and environmentally cleaner way to build molecules that the Nobel Committee said “much benefit humanity”.

A week of Nobel Prize announcements began Monday with Swedish scientist Svante Papau receiving a prize in medicine for revealing the secrets of Neanderthal DNA that provided key insights into our immune system, the Associated Press reports.

Three scientists together won a physics prize on Tuesday. Frenchman Alain Aspect, American John F. Clauser and Austrian Anton Zeilinger showed that small particles can maintain contact with each other even when separated, a phenomenon known as quantum entanglement, which can be used in specialized computing and information encryption.

The Literary Awards continue Thursday. The 2022 Nobel Peace Prize will be announced on Friday and the Economics Prize on Monday.
