NIHR receives British Prime Minister’s personal representative

Manama, February 17 (BNA) The President of the National Institution for Human Rights, Ali Ahmed Al-Dirazi, received Lord Tariq Ahmed, representative of Wimbledon, the personal representative of the British Prime Minister and Minister of South and Central Asia, the United Nations and the Commonwealth. Al-Darazi stressed the depth of the historical relations between Bahrain and the United Kingdom and the need to continue strengthening relations in various fields.



He stressed the exchange of experiences in the field of human rights and work to develop the human rights system and its application in accordance with international and regional regulations.



The President of the National Institute for Human Rights presented the Institute’s work and the role it plays in promoting and protecting human rights, and its efforts in following up on the human rights situation during the outbreak of the pandemic.



Lord Tariq expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by the National Institution for Human Rights in promoting and protecting human rights in Bahrain, stressing the importance of these institutions in supporting and protecting this important sector.
