Manama, October 21 (BNA) The President of the National Institution for Human Rights, Ali Ahmed Al-Dirazi, received today the Regional Director of the Arab States at the United Nations Development Coordination Office, Laila Bakr.
He welcomed her and briefed her on the work of the National Institution for Human Rights, its objectives, and its competencies stipulated in its founding law. He highlighted the institution’s role in dealing with human rights issues in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation in the field of training and exchange of experiences.
He congratulated Bakr Al-Darazi on his appointment as Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the National Institution for Human Rights, wishing him success. She also stressed the institution’s role in promoting a culture of human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
