Manama, September 19 (BNA) The President of the National Institution for Human Rights, Ali Ahmed Al-Dirazi, said that the National Institution for Human Rights will organize an international conference entitled “The Law of Alternative Procedures and Punishments: A Qualitative Experience in Criminal Legislation” with local and international participation. Al-Darazi added that the two-day conference will be held at the end of next September.
The first day includes two sessions discussing the Penal Code, alternative measures, the efforts of the various authorities, and the role of national human rights institutions in following up on the implementation of the Alternative Procedures and Penalties Law.
The second day’s sessions will discuss the challenges facing the authorities supervising the implementation of the law, the visions of civil society institutions in the application of the Penal Code and alternative measures, and the most important challenges in their implementation.
He added that the last session will include an open general discussion, proposals and recommendations of the conference.
