Manama, November 23 (BNA) The President of the National Institution for Human Rights Ali Ahmed Al-Dirazi received today a member of the German Bundestag of the German Social Democratic Party (SPD) Dr. Nils Schmid, a member of the German Parliament. He is currently visiting the Kingdom to participate in the seventeenth Manama Dialogue Conference.
The meeting was attended by the German ambassador to Bahrain Kai Bochmann.
Al-Darazi praised the strength of the solid Bahraini-German relations, and the steady progress they have achieved at all levels.
The meeting dealt with a number of issues related to the human rights situation in the Kingdom.
Al-Darazi briefed the German Bundestag member on the role of the National Institute for Human Rights in protecting and promoting human rights in the Kingdom.
Dr. Schmid emphasized the important role played by the National Institution for Human Rights in protecting and consolidating human rights, wishing Bahrain further progress and prosperity.
