Jordanian Inflation up 3.36pct

Oman, June 11 (BNA): The Consumer Price Index (CPI), a measure of inflation, increased by 3.36% in the period from January to May of 2023, to reach 108.5 points, compared to 104.97 points in 2022.

According to a monthly report issued by the Department of Statistics on Sunday, rents were the main driver of the increase at 5.17 percent, followed by fuel and lighting at 18.4 percent, transportation at 3.14 percent, and dairy products at 8.59 percent. and health by 6.5 percent, Petra reported.

Last May, the figures showed an increase in inflation by 1.96 points, to 108.62 points, compared to 106.53 points recorded in the same month of 2022.

Rents contributed 5.17 percent to the monthly increase, followed by transportation by 2.45 percent, dairy products by 7.56 percent, health by 6.18 percent, and culture and entertainment by 9.27 percent.
