Havana, June 13 (BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain won the hosting of the 2024 World Football Championships, which is organized by the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF).
Bahrain secured the right to host the global event after winning the majority of votes during the IWF Executive Board meeting, which was held here today, in the presence of the President of the Bahrain Weightlifting Federation, Ishaq Ebrahim Ishaq.
The Kingdom’s delegation welcomed the holding of the new edition of the IWF World Championship in Bahrain, noting that it will consolidate the country’s position and confirm its distinguished reputation as a destination for huge international sporting events.
In his comment, the IWF President affirmed that the historic vote in favor of the Bahrain file embodies the IWF’s confidence in the Bahrain Weightlifting Federation, and confirms the Kingdom’s good reputation as a successful host to many international tournaments and events.
He pointed out that the Bahrain Weightlifting Federation is keen to set all the requirements for success for the World Weightlifting Championship.
