Labour Ministry, Vatel cooperation discussed

Manama, July 12 (BNA): Labor Minister Jamil bin Muhammad Ali Humaidan met with Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Director General of Fatel Bahrain.

Humaidan affirmed the Ministry of Labor’s keenness to support national efforts that contribute to providing various productive sectors with qualified national manpower, including the hotel and hospitality sector, given the growth Bahrain is witnessing in the tourism sector.

He added that the further development of hotel services will create job opportunities for citizens, which will enhance Bahrain’s competitiveness as an attractive tourist destination in the region.

The two meetings discussed the progress made in the academic programs offered by Vatel Bahrain, and its efforts to enhance the skill set of students to enable them to enter the labor market, equipped with international standards in the hotel and hospitality sector.

Humaidan stressed the importance of the role played by Vatel in providing the hotel sector with Bahraini employees through its updated specialized programmes.

Humaidan said that the Ministry of Labor is keen to raise the rates of employment of citizens in this sector, considering that education and specialized technical training are among the most important means to achieve the goals of this sector.

Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, General Manager of Vatel Bahrain, affirmed the school’s keenness to further develop its academic programs to meet the requirements of the labor market.

He expressed his keenness to further develop cooperation with various relevant authorities to enhance the school’s role in graduating qualified citizens in the hotel and hospitality sector in Bahrain.
