Baltimore police say two dead, three critical after ‘mass shooting incident’

Washington, July 2 (BNA): Police in the US city of Baltimore confirmed today, Sunday, that two people were killed in an “intensive shooting incident” during the night in an apartment building in the city, and that three others were in critical condition.

According to Reuters, the city’s police department said 30 people were shot in the incident at the 800 block of Gretna Street in Baltimore.

Police said an 18-year-old woman died at the scene and a 20-year-old man was pronounced dead after being taken to a local hospital.

Police said three others were in critical condition after nine people were taken from the scene to local hospitals, while 20 others were admitted to hospitals in the area.

At approximately 12:35 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to calls of gunfire in the 800 building of Gretna Courthouse, the police department said.

Hundreds of people gathered in the area for an event called “Brooklyn Day,” a witness told Fox 45 television, adding that they heard 20 to 30 shots being fired.
