US beats Canada 2-0 to win CONCACAF Nations League on goals by Balogun and Richards

Washington, June 19 (BNA): Having scored his first goal for the United States and collected his first medal, Folarin Balogun is looking forward to a future that includes the 2026 World Cup co-hosted by America.

Balogun and Chris Richards scored their first international goals, both assists from Gio Reina, and the USA defeated Canada 2-0 Sunday night to claim the Americans their second consecutive CONCACAF Nations League title.

Richards scored in the 12th minute from a Reina corner kick, bouncing a header from 7 yards out to the left of goalkeeper Milan Borgan for his first goal in 10 caps, reports the Associated Press.

Balogun, who made his debut in the 3-0 win over Mexico on Thursday after opting to play for the United States over England, doubled the lead in the 34th when he got a feed from Reyna and blocked Scott Kennedy with a right arm to get past Boarjan.
