Madrid, July 7 (BNA): Real Madrid reached an agreement to sign Arda Guler on Thursday, adding another young player to its midfield, the Associated Press reported.
The 18-year-old Turkey international arrives from Fenerbahçe on a six-year contract. It will be officially presented by Madrid on Friday.
And Spanish media said that the talented young man arrives for 20 million euros (21.7 million dollars), with additions that may reach 30 million euros (31.6 million dollars).
Guler, an attacking midfielder, made his Fenerbahçe debut in 2021 and has nine goals to his name. He also participated in four matches with the senior national team, with a goal, which came against Wales in the Euro 2024 qualifiers last month.
Real Madrid recently signed 20-year-old English midfielder Jude Bellingham and renewed his contracts with veterans Toni Kroos and Luka Modric.
The Spanish club also includes Eduardo Camavinga, Federico Valverde, Aurelien Choameni and Dani Ceballos in midfield. Ceballos’ contract was also extended recently.
Real Madrid also recently extended the contract of defender Nacho Fernandez, and strengthened his attack by loaning Spanish striker Joselo from Espanyol. The attackers will not return next season, Karim Benzema, Marco Asensio, Eden Hazard and Mariano Diaz.
