BHB wins prestigious award

Manama, June 17 (BNA): The Bahrain Bourse (BHB), the stock exchange licensed by the Central Bank of Bahrain, announced that it has been awarded the Best Stock Exchange for Financial Literacy Initiatives – GCC Countries for the year 2023. Global Banking & Finance Review.

This honor confirms Bahrain Bourse’s firm commitment to promoting literacy through its various programmes, its continuous participation in the World Federation of Exchanges initiative “Ringing the Bell for Financial Literacy”, as well as its participation in the awareness campaign at the level of the Gulf Cooperation Council (“Mulim”) in cooperation with Central Bank of Bahrain to raise awareness of fraud prevention in the capital markets.

The Bahrain Bourse remains at the forefront of many initiatives aimed at enhancing financial awareness across various segments of society. The Bourse’s commitment to empowering society and instilling a culture of financial culture and responsible investment has earned it this award through a variety of targeted programs, including the Smart Investor Program organized in cooperation with INJAZ Bahrain, the Trade Quest Program, the Capital Market Vocational Training Program, and The Investment Academy in cooperation with the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF).

In May 2023, the Bahrain Bourse concluded the fifth edition of the Smart Investor Program, which targets fourth grade students, and the 24th edition of the TradeQuest Program, which targets high school and university students. The Smart Investor Program, launched in cooperation with INJAZ Bahrain, focuses on inculcating basic financial concepts through interactive activities and stimulating workshops, providing a solid foundation for future financial habits, while the TradeQuest program provides students with hands-on experience by trading according to established principles. Protocols and systems using an electronic trading platform on the Bahrain Bourse and the New York Stock Exchange.

Bahrain Bourse also launched in 2021 the apprenticeship program in the capital market, which was created exclusively to target Bahraini graduates. The program aims to provide trainees with the practical knowledge and skills needed to successfully navigate the capital markets after undergoing a 6-month job rotation at the Bahrain Bourse and Bahrain Clear.

In collaboration with the BIBF Institute, Bahrain Bourse has also launched a series of free webinars for the public, under the umbrella of the Investment Academy. The Investment Academy was launched in 2017 in cooperation with the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance to provide practical knowledge, targeting beginners and professional investors to enhance their knowledge of capital markets through advanced and sophisticated training methods and techniques, which more than 2,000 participants benefited from.
