New York, July 19 (BNA): The Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, Amna bint Ahmed Al-Rumaihi, and the Minister of Sustainable Development, Noor bint Ali Al-Khalif, met on the sidelines of the meeting. United Nations High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development 2023 to discuss ways to expand their partnership on sustainable development. The two sides discussed opportunities for knowledge exchange, capacity building and technical cooperation.


During their meeting with His Excellency Abdullah Nasser Lootah, Minister of Sustainable Development and Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Competitiveness and Knowledge Exchange of the United Arab Emirates, His Excellency Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD), and Minister Al Rumaihi stressed the role of innovation and partnerships in accelerating development goals sustainable. In the housing industry, the government has partnered with the private sector to develop innovative policies that provide immediate and sustainable housing solutions for Bahraini citizens. She explained that these policies include housing financing programs and the government land development program, which helped families obtain decent housing in a short period of time.


Meanwhile, Minister Al-Khulaif highlighted the importance of regional and international cooperation in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and reaffirmed Bahrain’s commitment to working with the UAE and other countries to advance the SDGs and build a more sustainable future.


His Excellency Abdullah Nasser Lootah praised Bahrain’s progress in achieving the sustainable development goals, and shared the UAE’s keenness to expand its cooperation with Bahrain in the field of sustainable development, stressing that many great things can be achieved through increased cooperation.


For his part, His Excellency Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi encouraged the continuation of discussions to explore ways to enhance the various relations between the two countries on sustainable development and to identify opportunities that serve the common interests of the two countries.
