Jordan, Iraq emphasize bilateral cooperation

Baghdad, July 25 (BNA): Jordan and Iraq stressed the importance of overcoming the obstacles that impede the progress of bilateral relations and the need to make joint efforts to develop economic and trade relations as a basic pillar to support these relations.

In a joint statement held by the Jordanian Prime Minister, Dr. Bishr Al-Khasawneh, and his Iraqi counterpart, Muhammad Shia’ Al-Sudani, in Baghdad, today, Monday, the two sides stressed the importance of implementing the agreements reached during the twenty-ninth session of the Iraqi-Jordanian Joint Committee and the documents signed at the conclusion of its work.

According to the statement reported by the Jordan News Agency (Petra), the talks focused on mechanisms for enhancing the volume of trade and the importance of expanding cooperation in the economic, trade and investment fields.

They also highlighted support for the role of the private sector in increasing trade exchange between the two countries, in addition to cooperation in the energy and oil sectors.

They also aimed to enhance food integration and increase the strategic stock of basic commodities in both countries.

The two sides also discussed many Arab issues, and affirmed the continuation of work, coordination and consultation between them in their efforts to resolve regional crises and serve Arab issues to achieve security and stability in the region.
