Muslim Council of Elders Secretary General participates in Emerging Peacemakers Forum

Geneva, July 12 (BNA): Judge Mohamed Abdel Salam, Secretary General of the Council of Muslim Elders, participated in the Emerging Peacemakers Forum in its second edition.


The Secretary-General emphasized that the forum is one of the initiatives of the Council of Muslim Elders, which aims to empower young people for a better future for themselves, their communities and their humanity. He urged them to believe in themselves and their ability to shape the future.


Judge Abdul Salam said that the Council of Muslim Elders has a great interest in youth through a set of initiatives and efforts aimed at harnessing their potential to become positive influencers in their communities.


He called on young people to build on what they learned in this edition of the forum, and to be a source of inspiration for others, following the example of the graduates of the first edition, who have become pioneering and influential role models among their peers and in their lives. The Secretary-General also stressed the importance of education in building generations capable of promoting peace, adhering to the values ​​of dialogue, tolerance and coexistence, and confronting hate speech, intolerance and discrimination.


He pointed out that the Islamic Council of Elders seeks, in cooperation with international academic institutions, to integrate the values ​​of dialogue, respect, acceptance and human brotherhood into educational programs. He also emphasized the council’s tireless efforts to highlight the importance of girls’ education and women’s empowerment.
