Manama, July 11 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the Public Authority for Sports and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, stressed the importance of providing the necessary infrastructure and sports facilities for various sports in the Kingdom.


This is in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and the directives of His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty. His Highness, representative of His Majesty the King for humanitarian work and youth affairs and head of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, said to develop and provide sports infrastructure to serve Bahraini youth and enable the kingdom to host various sporting events.


His Highness Sheikh Khalid made this statement during his visit to the Umm Al-Hassam Sports Halls Complex, where he inspected the halls of the Bahraini Basketball Federation and the Bahraini Handball Federation.


His Highness Sheikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Vice President of the General Authority of the Authority, Dr. Abdul Rahman Sadiq Askar, CEO of the Public Services Authority, President of the Bahrain Charity Foundation, Ali Issa Ashki and a number of directors of the General Insurance Authority attended the event.


His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed that the sports facilities reflect the cultural and sports development of the country because of their importance in holding various local and foreign competitions and tournaments.


This requires redoubling efforts to develop sports facilities and create a suitable environment for young people to practice their sports hobbies.


His Highness Sheikh Khaled stressed the importance of carrying out maintenance work in the Umm Al-Hassam Sports Halls Complex, due to the large number of events it hosts, stressing the General Authority of Civil Aviation’s keenness to develop all sports facilities in line with the urban development that the Kingdom is currently witnessing. In order to meet the needs of sports clubs and federations.
