Chief of Public Security co-chairs a security meeting

Manama, June 20 (BNA): Chief of Public Security Lieutenant General Tariq Al-Hassan and Principal Deputy Coordinator of the Counter-Terrorism Office at the US State Department, Chris Landberg, chaired the online meeting of the third session of the Security Council. The strategic security dialogue between Bahrain and the United States.

His Excellency the Chief of Public Security conveyed the greetings and wishes of the Interior Minister, Lieutenant General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, for the success of the meeting based on the outcomes of his visit to the United States of America and the signing of memorandums of understanding between the two countries. .

His Excellency praised the directives of the Minister of Interior to enhance efficiency, capabilities and security performance through training, modern technology and openness to advanced expertise and experience. He appreciated security cooperation and coordination between the two sides in combating terrorism and organized crime.

He highlighted the Ministry of Interior’s efforts to protect security and stability and Bahrain’s achievements in tackling money laundering and terrorist financing. It also highlighted the achievement of the General Directorate of Enforcement of Sentences and Alternative Sentences in applying the Penal Code, Alternative Measures and the Open Prisons Program to promote human rights.

Meanwhile, the US official appreciated the Kingdom of Bahrain’s dedication to strengthening joint efforts within the framework of coordination between the two countries.

The meeting reviewed the latest security developments within the signed memorandums of understanding and methods of exchanging information on cybersecurity risks and responding to information security incidents to enhance the best security services by detecting cyber breaches.
