Bayern Munich is renovating its stadium for next season and Euro 2024

Munich, July 5 (BNA): Bayern Munich is taking advantage of the summer holidays to lay a new hybrid field for the next season and modernize its stadium ahead of the 2024 European Championship and the 2025 Champions League final.

The Associated Press (AP) reports that the new stadium will feature a mix of natural and artificial turf.

“It’s a carpet that already contains synthetic fibres. Natural turf is sown between them, which combines the advantages of natural turf and the quality of hybrid turf. It will be more flat and therefore very easy to play on,” stadium director Jürgen Muth said.

The stadium work includes converting some seating areas into standing-only sections, adding more seats in other areas, and removing rows of seats behind one of the goals to create additional wheelchair spaces. Capacity will remain at 75,000 spectators.

Byrne said the renovation work was being done for safety reasons on the recommendation of the local administrative office.

“Everything has been discussed and agreed with the Fan Dialogue Working Group,” the club said.

The Bayern stadium is scheduled to host six matches during Euro 2024 and the Champions League final the following year.
