Shura committee affirms keenness to strengthen Bahrain-US relations

Manama, June 25 (BNA): Chairman of the Foreign Affairs, Defense and National Security Committee of the Shura Council, Ali bin Muhammad Al-Rumaihi, affirmed the Council’s keenness to strengthen cooperation relations with parliaments of other countries.

He stressed that the continuous cooperation between the Shura Council and the US Congress stems from the long-standing Bahraini-American strategic relations supported by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

Al-Rumaihi’s statements came during the joint talks that took place between the Foreign Affairs, Defense and National Security Committee of the Shura Council and a delegation from the US Congress headed by Congressman Ronnie Jackson, including the US Ambassador to Bahrain, Stephen C. Bondy.

The Speaker and members of the Shura Council welcomed the visiting delegation, praising the advanced level reached by the Bahraini-American relations in various fields.

Al-Rumaihi stressed the importance of the visit in exchanging experiences and strengthening bilateral relations in the legislative, economic, political, security and social fields.

He pointed out that the legislative authority attaches utmost importance to highlighting the Kingdom’s achievements at the regional and global levels, especially with regard to its efforts and its pivotal role in promoting peace, security and stability at the international level, based on the approach of dialogue and positive openness to society. everyone.

He referred to the joint efforts made by the legislative and executive authorities under the leadership of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to achieve the ambitious national goals of the Kingdom, and to make it a positive contributor to achieving the Kingdom’s goals.
