Sunni Endowments Council Chairman honours holy Quran competition winners

Manama, Mar. 30 (BNA): The Sunni Endowments Directorate has organised the second Holy Quran Competition, in collaboration with the Friendship Society for the Blind.


The winners were honoured during the closing ceremony, attended by Dr. Shaikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Futtais Al Hajeri, Sunni Endowments Council Chairman, as well as President and members of the Friendship Society for the Blind.  


While honouring 129 blind students, Al Hajeri highlighted the Sunni Endowments Directorate’s keenness to hold many events, in line with its desire to promote the principle of community partnership with various institutions, including the Friendship Society for the Blind.  


The competitions aim to encourage blind students to learn, study and memorise the holy Quran, in line with the visions of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and the interest of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to serve the holy Quran and develop the work of religious institutions to instill the moderate values of Islam in the minds of youngsters, he said.  


Hussain Al Hulaibi, President of Friendship Society for the Blind, praised the success of the holy Quran recitation course, commending the role played by the Sunni Endowments in this regard.  


The honourees expressed pride in taking part in the course, praising the constant support they have received.
