Anti-Narcotics Directorate: Suspicious foreign drug dealing accounts are being traced

Manama, July 15 (BNA): The General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Sciences said, regarding reports received on social media and the local press, about unknown individuals communicating with citizens and residents via the WhatsApp application for drug trafficking, that an investigation into the reports indicates that the suspects Accounts are managed from outside Bahrain.

She emphasized that measures are being taken to follow up and track the sources in coordination with the concerned authorities to take legal measures.

The Narcotics Control Directorate is making great efforts to combat illegal drugs and arrest dealers and gangs that randomly target community members through social media. Legal measures were taken against those arrested in Bahrain, as they were referred to the Public Prosecution. The search continues for the residents on board the boat, in cooperation with the security authorities and law enforcement authorities.

The Directorate General also highlighted its awareness-raising efforts through the Criminal Information Division, including 410 lectures for 25,000 individuals, 12 traveling exhibitions, and 16 campaigns from the beginning of 2022 until mid-2023.
