Bahrain obtains “Tier 1” in the US State Department 2023 Trafficking in Persons Report


Manama, June 19 (BNA): The National Committee for Combating Human Trafficking held its first meeting after its reform, chaired by Nof Abdul Rahman Jamsheer, CEO of the Labor Market Regulatory Authority.

Jamsheer congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on Bahrain’s obtaining first place in the US State Department’s report on country classification. in the field of combating human trafficking for the sixth year in a row.

She indicated that this achievement reflects the Kingdom’s great and sustainable efforts to maintain a stable and fair work environment.

Jamsheer added that the pioneering regional role of the Kingdom of Bahrain in combating human trafficking reflects its commitment to preserving the rights of all business parties.

The meeting reviewed the current policies aimed at combating human trafficking in the Kingdom and the most prominent points mentioned in the report of the US State Department, to build on, promote and combat human trafficking at all levels.
