Sustainable Development Minister praises UAE’s Global Councils on SDGs



Dubai, June 16 (BNA): Minister of Sustainable Development, Noor bint Ali Al-Khalif, affirmed the solid Bahraini-Emirati relations at all levels, stressing the need to continue expanding bilateral cooperation to achieve the highest levels. Integration between the two countries, in light of the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State.

The Minister made these remarks during his meeting with a number of chairmen and vice-chairmen of the Global Councils for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

During the meeting, which was attended by senior Emirati officials, the global councils for sustainable development goals initiatives, their roles and tasks, in addition to the sustainable development goals they oversee their realization, were highlighted.

The minister briefed the international councils on the work mechanisms, goals and achievements of the sustainable development goals over the past years.

The minister praised the pivotal role played by the UAE in leading global efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda, citing its initiative to launch global councils for sustainable development goals in cooperation with the United Nations.

She stressed the importance of expanding the scope of cooperation between the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council to fully benefit from their expertise and build their capabilities in a way that supports the goals of the Kingdom’s comprehensive development process, in line with Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030 and the government. plans and programmes.
