Harbin of China to host 2025 Asian Winter Games

Bangkok, July 8 (BNA): The Olympic Council of Asia chose Harbin, the capital of northeastern China’s Heilongjiang Province, to host the 2025 Asian Winter Games on Saturday.

According to the Chinese news agency (Xinhua) that the office made the decision at its forty-second conference held in Bangkok, Thailand.

This will be the second time that Harbin will host the Asian Winter Games after the first in 1996, and the third time that the regional games will be held in a Chinese city, the other being Changchun in 2007.

Harbin’s successful bid also came after Beijing successfully hosted the Winter Olympics in 2022.

Japan’s Sapporo and Obihiro last hosted the Asian Winter Games in 2017.
