SCW Secretary General receives Secretary General of International Communities Organization

Manama, July 17 (BNA): Hala bint Muhammad Jaber Al-Ansari, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Women, met Dr. James Holmes, Secretary General of the International Communities Organization in the United Kingdom, and Masoud’s friend. Ahmed, Director of Strategic Business Development at the International University of Management.

Al-Ansari highlighted the Bahraini model in supporting the advancement of women and its outputs, which were reflected in the active participation of Bahraini women in various fields of national development.

The meeting also highlighted the contributions of the Supreme Council for Women since its establishment in 2001, in raising women’s competitiveness in development based on equality and incorporating women’s needs into plans and programs, in order to create opportunities for them to improve their development options. Quality of life, lifelong learning and family stability.

Al-Ansari praised the organization’s efforts to achieve more justice and peace, and its efforts to promote international stability based on respect for the sovereignty of states and the unique nature of societies, and linking this to economic development in which everyone actively contributes, including women.

The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Women indicated that there are a number of areas of common interest between the Supreme Council for Women and the International Organization for Adolescents, which include promoting women’s rights in the human rights system, enhancing women’s economic participation and opportunities for leadership through capacity-building programs, and facilitating business. They have access to sources of finance and technology, and encourage innovation.

Dr. Holmes gave a briefing on the ICO’s work process, and the organization’s efforts in supporting the building of empowered societies by creating a strong network of diplomats, academics, lawyers, policy practitioners, researchers, and organization representatives, for comprehensive empowerment in bridging the gap between men and women, and integrating women’s rights into development fields.

The Secretary General of the ICO praised the advanced Bahraini experience in empowering and supporting women.
He expressed the ICO’s keenness to study this experience carefully and benefit from it in the organization’s work and cooperation with the Supreme Council for Women and work at the regional and international levels in order to achieve common goals.
