Amo-Dadzie goes under 10 seconds in Graz 100m

Vienna June 20 (BNA): Eugen Amo Dadzi calls himself the world’s fastest accountant, and the British record-breaking athlete is putting his money where his mouth is by burning up the track in Graz, Austria with an impressive 9.93-second finish in the 100m running.

The 30-year-old accountant, who only started running seriously four years ago, improved on his personal best at last week’s Horst Mandel memorial to become the fastest 100m runner in Europe this year.

Amo Dadzi’s impressive effort also leaves him fourth on the British list which includes names like Linford Christie (9.87), James Dasaulo and Zarnell Hughes (both 9.91) and Rhys Prescod (9.93), Reuters reports.

Amo-Dadzie, who previously used his blistering speed to run loops around fellow amateur soccer players, began training at Woodford Green Athletics Club and has steadily improved his performance with a peak time of 10.05 seconds last year.

The late comedian, who has no sponsor or funding, said he might not have realized its full potential had it been discovered earlier.
