BTEA chief: Bahrain’s tourism industry offers lucrative opportunities for entrepreneurs

Manama, June 26 (BNA): Dr. Nasser Qaidi, CEO of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, stated that the strong growth of the tourism industry in the Kingdom of Bahrain creates a large number of opportunities for Bahraini entrepreneurs interested in setting up projects related to tourism and hospitality, such as food and beverage services, and travel agencies. , tour operators, etc., and encourage entrepreneurs to take advantage of this growth and the high revenues that were recorded in the previous year, which exceeded 1.5 billion Bahraini dinars.

This came during his meeting with members of the Bahrain Employers Organization at the Bahrain International Exhibition in Sakhir, where they discussed promising investment prospects in the tourism sector available to entrepreneurs and investors, in addition to presenting Bahrain’s tourism strategy 2022-2026 and the future. road map.

During the meeting, Dr. Kaidi emphasized the Ministry of Tourism’s support and incentives for entrepreneurs to launch and expand tourism-focused projects, encouraging innovation and development in this sector, recognizing the importance of entrepreneurs as a primary catalyst for promoting and transforming the tourism sector. He stressed that the tourism sector provides many exceptional investment opportunities that can lead to exceptional financial returns and new business models, as well as expanding their customer base by increasing the participation of Bahraini entrepreneurs in managing and developing the tourism sector through innovative tourism projects and services.

The CEO of BTEA also reviewed the main objectives and pillars of the tourism strategy and steps to implement it, in addition to the authority’s plan to increase the participation of the private sector in promoting Bahrain as an international tourist destination, in addition to highlighting the latest achievements of the tourism sector and statistics.

Dr. Qaidi emphasized the authority’s desire to enhance cooperation with entrepreneurs, local and international organizations and societies in order to enhance the qualitative shift of the tourism sector in Bahrain, attract more tourists and regional and global investors, and achieve common goals in increasing the sector’s contribution. for national prosperity. He explained that tourism is one of the most vital industries in the national economy, with significant growth in various fields such as hotels, resorts, and cultural and entertainment activities.
