Manama, June 26 (BNA): Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Livestock at the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Dr. Ibrahim Youssef said that about 50,000 sheep and 300 cows were imported to meet the demand during the three days of Eid.
Dr. Ibrahim said that in addition to 50,300 head of cattle, 2,600 tons of chilled and frozen red meat and 7,500 tons of chilled and frozen poultry were imported during the period from May 15 to June 24, in preparation for the requirements of Eid al-Adha.
The Acting Assistant Undersecretary affirmed the ministry’s readiness for the blessed Eid Al-Adha through a plan to cover the licensed slaughterhouses by providing veterinarians for examination, along with licensed slaughterhouse doctors to facilitate and speed up the examination process.
He emphasized that about 14 veterinarians work 24 hours a day in Khalifa bin Salman Port, Bahrain Airport and King Fahd Causeway to monitor meat of both types, red and white, whether it is refrigerated or frozen, in addition to veterinary supervision of sheep and cattle. imported.
