Manama, July 9 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa expressed his pride in the pioneering role of the Bahraini press and its efforts in serving society and supporting national development.
His Majesty also highlighted the local press coverage of topics of interest to the Kingdom and its citizens, which contribute to spreading awareness and knowledge.
His Majesty the King spoke about receiving the members of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Journalists Association, headed by the Chairman of the Board, Issa Al-Shayji.
The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Personal Representative of His Majesty, and His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs.
During the meeting, His Majesty the King congratulated the newly elected Board of Directors of the Jordanian Journalists Syndicate, wishing them continued success in achieving the goals of the association towards further advancement of journalism in Bahrain.

For his part, Al-Shayji, President of the Jordan Journalists Syndicate, expressed his gratitude to His Majesty the King for receiving the Board of Directors, which reflects His Majesty’s support and appreciation for the press and media in Bahrain.
He also expressed his appreciation to His Majesty the King for his directives regarding adhering to the values of professional journalism and addressing misinformation.
