Bahrain’s first almond festival to open on Saturday

Manama, July 6 (BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain is preparing for the first Almond Festival, which will open tomorrow, Saturday, at the Bahrain Farmers Market site in the Budaiya Botanical Garden.


The Assistant Undersecretary for Agricultural Affairs at the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, Muhammad Al-Araibi, said that the festival will open its doors to visitors from 4 pm until 9 pm.


And the Assistant Undersecretary announced, in a statement today, that preparations have been made to launch the 2023 edition of the festival.


He said the ministry is holding the event in partnership with the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD) and the Bahrain Agricultural Cooperative Society, and unveiled plans to organize the event annually.


He added that the two-week festival will witness the participation of 15 farmers, 3 projects, productive families, and 4 restaurants for almond products.


He indicated that the ministry will distribute a total of 1,000 almond seedlings on the sidelines of the festival, which will also display almond-based products.
