Transportation and Telecommunications Ministry launches governance guide

Manama, July 3 (BNA): The Ministry of Transportation and Communications today issued its governance guide in an effort to enhance the business environment and establish ethical rules that guarantee mutual trust between institutions and society.

The chart prepared by the Government Sector Governance Working Group at the Ministry clarifies the basic principles and rules stipulated in Resolution No. (13) of 2013 regarding the adoption of the Government Institutions Governance Guide and the executive program for its implementation.

The Minister of Transport and Communications, Mohammed bin Thamer Al-Kaabi, stressed the importance of governance in setting policies in line with national priorities, defining and achieving the strategic goals of the ministry, in addition to its effective and positive impact on institutional management, efficiency and effectiveness.

He said, “These policies will be applied to achieve the optimal use of administrative reforms, through which the visions and goals stipulated in the ministry’s strategy can be achieved.”


He stressed the importance of applying distinguished governance practices and adhering to them in terms of legislation, regulations, organizational structure, external and internal control, principles of disclosure and transparency, ethical principles and governing values.
