Manama, July 14 (BNA): Parliament Speaker Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam praised Bahrain’s achievements in the field of human rights.
He attributed the steady progress of human rights in the Kingdom of Bahrain to the royal directives and patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, with the support and follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince. and prime minister.
The Speaker made the comments following the 2022 report released by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), removing Bahrain from the list of priority countries in the area of human rights.
Al-Musallam praised the achievement that enhances the position of the Bahraini government, praising the government’s tireless efforts in this vital sector.
The report reflected the progressive steps taken by the Kingdom of Bahrain to promote and protect human rights. She praised the parliamentary elections, the increased voter turnout, and the increased participation of women, reflecting the pioneering vision of His Majesty the King’s wise leadership, and the free popular will to exercise rights in a constitutional and civilized manner.
In a statement today, the Speaker of Parliament praised Bahrain’s deep-rooted traditions and practices in a country that calls for the rule of law, institutions, tolerance and coexistence between religions.
He pointed out that this pioneering model reflects Bahrain’s lofty humanitarian message to the whole world, in adhering to the values and principles of peace and dialogue, and through various qualitative and civilized initiatives and projects.
The Speaker of Parliament praised the concerted efforts made by all state and civil society institutions to enhance Bahrain’s human rights record and continue the process of achievement and progress in this vital sector, which represents a priority for the Kingdom.
