Manama, July 8 (BNA): The first edition of the Bahraini Almond Festival opened today at the Farmers Market site in the Budaiya Botanical Garden.

The Ministry of Municipalities and Agriculture launched the maid version, which attracted large numbers of citizens, residents and visitors of the GCC countries.

In a statement on this occasion, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Marine Resources, Dr. Khaled Ahmed Hassan, revealed plans to hold the festival annually, following the successful annual periodic organization of the Bahrain Farmers Market.

The festival will open its doors to visitors from 04:00 pm to 09:00 pm, and it includes a group of activities targeting visitors and children as well.

The Ministry is holding this event in partnership with the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD) and the Bahraini Agricultural Cooperative Society.
