HM King addresses 18th GCC Consultative Meeting, GCC-Central Asia Summit

Jeddah, July 19 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa delivered a speech today before the 18th consultative meeting of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the GCC and Central Asia Summit (C5).

Today, at the King Abdullah International Conference Center in Jeddah, the eighteenth consultative meeting of the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the GCC-Central Asia summit was held under the chairmanship of the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, with the participation of heads of delegations GCC countries and Central Asian countries.

The following is the speech of His Majesty the King:

In the name of God, the most gracious, the most merciful

Dear brother, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Chairman of the Summit,

My brother, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister,

Your Majesties, Highnesses and Excellencies,
Distinguished delegates,

Peace, mercy and blessings of God.

At the outset, we extend our sincere congratulations to all of you on the occasion of the new Hijri year, asking the Lord Almighty that it be a year of goodness, peace and blessings for the peoples and countries of the Arab and Islamic world, and upon it. On this occasion, we must congratulate the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the great success achieved by the Hajj season, which was distinguished by its high level of organization in serving the pilgrims of the Sacred House of God, and its keenness to provide all aspects of care and attention. Paying attention to performing Hajj rituals in the best way.

We are also pleased to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to our brother, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and to His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for the kind invitation and for hosting this blessed gathering between the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the countries of Central Asia, with its strategic dimensions. Ambitious, so that the relations between these regional blocs are based on a solid foundation of fraternal rapprochement, political understanding, economic integration, knowledge and cultural exchange, security and defense partnerships to maintain the security and stability of their countries.

In view of what has been achieved between our two countries in terms of historical and deep-rooted relations and strong relations of cooperation, and taking into account the areas of development on the path of progress and peace, our meeting today is the culmination of those serious endeavors in order to bridge visions and strengthen the foundations of common vital interests to protect our spiritual values ​​and civilizational gains. Moreover, it is a place for collective and systematic action to spread the culture and practices of peace and tolerance, enrich channels of dialogue between religions and civilizations, ban religious, sectarian and ethnic hate speech, and deter hostile terrorist forces by fighting them. Organizations and funding sources, in order to achieve the goal of building a regional community based on peaceful coexistence and mutual trust, while preserving the sovereignty of states and their right to development in the long term.
