Manama, June 29 (BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain strongly condemned the burning of a copy of the Holy Quran by an extremist in front of the main mosque in Stockholm, Sweden.
In a statement issued today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced, in the strongest terms, the heinous act that stirs up the feelings of Muslims in the world and fuels hatred and violence.
The ministry said that defaming religions contradicts religious freedom and the values of tolerance and human coexistence, adding that the heinous act that incites hatred, extremism and violence violates international covenants and laws.
In the statement, the ministry called for decisive measures to be taken to deter such actions that do not reflect human and moral values.
