New York, July 19 (BNA): The Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, Amna bint Ahmed Al-Rumaihi, and the Minister of Sustainable Development, Noor bint Ali Al-Khalif, met with the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development. Dr.. Khaled Mahdi.


The meeting was held on the sidelines of the participation of the Bahraini delegation in the United Nations High-level Political Forum for Sustainable Development 2023 entitled “Accelerating Recovery from Coronavirus Disease and Full Implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development at All Levels” to present the Kingdom of Bahrain’s Second Voluntary National Review on the progress made in achieving the 2030 Agenda and sustainable development goals.


During the meeting, the ministers highlighted the Kingdom of Bahrain’s strong commitment to adopting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and aligning them with the government’s plan (2023-2026), explaining the efforts of the Government of Bahrain to ensure the multidimensional integration of these goals economically, socially and environmentally, and exchanging experiences and lessons learned with other countries to contribute to the momentum. to accelerate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.


Dr. Khaled Mahdi said that the second national report for the year 2023 of the State of Kuwait is an important measure of the progress that Kuwait has made in achieving the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals. He also stressed the importance of the role of the private sector in sustainable development and the impact of its activities on the 2030 Agenda and the extent to which this sector effectively contributes to the sustainable development goals in the Arab countries through its range of activities.
